Heineken AfroPunk

The Heineken space at the Afropunk Festival was designed as an immersive, futuristic jungle that celebrated culture, identity, and creativity. At the heart of this bold, neon-green experience was a central DJ table built around a living tree, symbolizing growth, strength, and connection. The DJ lineup exclusively featured Black DJs, reinforcing Heineken’s commitment to amplifying and empowering Black voices in music and nightlife.

Guests entered the installation through a striking hexagonal tunnel, lit with dynamic green LED lines that immediately set the tone for a high-energy, visually striking journey. Inside, lush vegetation blended with bold lighting, neon signs, disco balls, and reflective surfaces, creating a surreal landscape that felt both organic and electric.

One of the key interactive moments was the mirrored disco ball activation. Visitors were invited to place their heads inside a large disco globe where an intricate arrangement of mirrors reflected their face infinitely—creating a kaleidoscopic, star-like effect that blended personal identity with the festival’s atmosphere. This moment became a powerful symbol of presence and individuality within a collective experience.

The entire space was enclosed in a geodesic dome, which further emphasized the futuristic, almost utopian vibe of the installation. Every corner of the dome was carefully curated to reinforce Heineken’s green identity while delivering a multisensory celebration of Black creativity, sustainability, and bold expression.
